Should the unthinkable happen and your pet wander off, then make sure they are found by getting them microchipped.
How does it work?
A tiny glass capsule the size of a grain of rice containing a unique identification number is placed under the skin. Any vet, rescue centre or dog warden subsequently scanning the animal will detect the microchip number with a small hand-held scanner. This number is registered with PetLog, the national central database run by the Kennel Club to reunite you with your dog.
How long does it take?
The process only takes a matter of minutes and usually it takes longer to fill in the forms that microchip the dog!
If you plan to travel about your pet must have a microchip in order to comply with regulations.
How much does it cost?
We charge £25 per dog. However, if you combine the microchipping with a wash and/or clip then the microchipping is just £20.
For further information on the microchipping process please have a look at the Pet-Detect website whose chips we use.
